German and English Language Classes

Students studying at the IMPRS-CS are not compelled to learn German, as English is the chosen language at the Max Planck Institutes and at the Saarland University's Faculty of Computer Science.

Those wishing to learn German because they need it in their daily lives can attend our German language classes. We also offer English courses.
The language classes have different levels of proficiency and are free of charge.

Please check our Course Requirements.

During the semester, classes take place once or twice a week. Please take a look at the current timetable.
New students can either enter into a complete beginners course or join a more advanced course, whereas the latter is only possible, if these students take the placement test held at the start of the semester.
